Where does the name “Staccato” come from?
In music, staccato refers to a sequence of “short, sharply separated sounds.”” We associate staccato with the rapid sequence of bullets pinging off steel targets. In 2019, we rebranded our duty and personal defense-focused pistols as Staccato. Both professionals and consumers responded quite well to this line. We formally changed the name of the entire business to Staccato in 2020.

The gun community has known us for more than 25 years as STI, the firm that developed the 2011® pistol platform from John Browning’s iconic 1911 design.
